TERMS & CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions apply when you order products from Bake-a-Story. We advise you that before placing an order you carefully read these terms. By ordering from us, you will agree to be bound to these terms and to all the conditions expressed on it.

Payment and ordering

In order to confirm your order (online orders, telephone orders, in person orders) 25% non-refundable deposit is needed. Once this deposit is received, your date & cake will be secured.

The remaining balance for your cake is due 48 hours prior to the collection or delivery of your order. Your order is only confirmed once full payment is received.

Bake-a-Story reserves the right to cancel any order if full payment is not received 48 hours before the delivery/pick-up date. The deposits are non-refundable & non-transferable regardless of this.

Products

We do a lot of bespoke cakes and cupcakes and we do encourage our customers to go as creative as possible. However, we won’t 100% replicate cakes from pictures or previous orders. We will put a lot of time and effort to be as accurate as possible but you have to bear in mind that all our cakes are handmade by Mani. We believe every cake is a unique and beautiful creation.

We cater to many dietary restrictions and we are an allergy-friendly bakery (this does not apply to nuts since we handle all sorts of nuts in the kitchen). It is your responsibility to clearly state all of your allergies and intolerances before confirming your order.

We reserve the right to not fulfil your order if you have a severe allergy to any of the ingredients we handle in the kitchen.

We do a lot of ingredients substitution in order to cater to your dietary needs, however, we will always recommend customers those ingredients that are safe for them and that will work better when baking with them and which ones will affect texture and taste of the final product. If you decide to ignore our recommendations, we won’t be liable for the final product, its taste and look.

We reserve the right to use photographs of orders we prepare on our website and Social Media accounts.

Delivery and Collection

The Products ordered by you can only be delivered to the delivery address provided by you to us, or collected by you from a Bake-a-Story premises.

We cannot accept any liability for the treatment or mishandling of your order once it has been accepted. We will show you your order and will wait for your acceptance. Once accepteded, you are liable for the appearance of your order.

We cannot accept any responsibility for deterioration of the product(s) in these circumstances. We cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by you or by a courier/agent engaged by you to collect product(s) from Bake-a-Story if they are damaged during transit provided that you or your courier/agent has accepted delivery of the order.

It is important to follow my cake care guide which is provided with your order. It can also be made available upon request.

Returns and Refunds

All our products are made to order and for these reasons we cannot accept any returns.

If you are in any way not satisfied by the quality of your order, you have to notify us on the day of collection/delivery. The notification should be made by email to mani@bakeastory.co.uk. We won’t take any complaints, comments or any other piece of information through our social media profiles, so please avoid using our instagram account or facebook to refer to this matter.

If the product is damaged, we will require a set of pictures for our full inspection from which after evaluation and subject to these terms and conditions we will decide whether to make a refund or not. Any offers of refund will be made at our discretion. Remember we are not liable for the mishandling or mistreatment of your order once it leaves our care (Collection or Delivery).

If a refund is offered, we will only do refunds to the original bank account from which payment is received. All refunds are made within 2 to 5 working days.

Taste is a very personal matter we cannot accept the return of any products just because you do not like the taste.
